Fair Trade Clothing

We take steps to ensure that fabrics that are bought from overseas are fairly-traded. We do this by working with suppliers who can demonstrate this to our satisfaction, or we look for the FAIRTRADE Mark, which represents small-scale cotton farmers in developing countries, ensuring they receive a fair and stable price for their cotton. Quail’s primary source of Fairtrade organic cotton fabric is Bishopston Trading. We are committed to ensuring that our business has a beneficial impact—socially and economically. If a product is also organic, or ‘green’ in other ways, then that is even better!

Our attitude also extends to those we work with here, in Britain. We work with small independent traders and manufacturers. These are often owned by the workers, and/or are revitalising or maintaining traditional skills.

To keep transport miles down, we try and source as many services and products as possible within the UK—or as close to home as is practical and possible.

Quail is located in borough of Torbay, which achieved the Fairtrade Status in 2007.
