FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT 2008
Quail was delighted to take part in 2008's Fairtrade Fortnight. Living and working in the Fairtrade Town of Torbay we joined a band of local Fairtraders to set up a temporary store on the Brixham high street. We'll be back for Fairtrade Fortnight 2009!
We take steps to ensure that fabrics that are bought from overseas are fairly-traded. We do this by working with suppliers who can demonstrate this to our satisfaction, or we look for the FAIRTRADE Mark. We are comitted to ensuring that our business has a beneficial impact—socially and economically. If a product is also organic, or ‘green’ in other ways, then that is even better!
Our attitude also extends to those we work with here. We work with small independent traders and manufacturers. These are often owned by the workers, and/or are revitalising or maintaining traditional skills.
To keep transport miles down, we try and source as many services and products as possible within the UK—or as close to home as is practical and possible.
Quail is located within the fairtrade area of Torbay and is fully committed to the aims of fairtrade.
